President Paul Kagame stressed the significance of self-reliance, asserting that Africa can compete in the global market and reach the objective of self-innovation.
President Kagame, in his opening remarks, addressed approximately 2,500 attendees who took part in the Second Conference on Inclusive Technologies used in banks and financial institutions, known as the Inclusive Fintech Forum (IFF), on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
“Our young people are proof that Africa can compete with the world and innovate. In recent years, the number of IT service providers has tripled. These companies have revolutionized the financial sector, particularly through mobile money transfers,” said President Kagame.
He noted that Africa should take charge of its own development, without relying on others to come and do it.
In the last few years, the number of companies offering financial technology services has nearly tripled.
“These companies have revolutionized the financial sector, particularly through mobile money transfers,” he said.
These institutions, regardless of their size, maintain a crucial role in the reform of the financial services sector.
Cooperation is needed; people must collaborate to create a better future.
