Rwanda Commits to Ensuring Healthcare Access for All

Participants in the Health and Economy Conference in Africa were urged to strengthen collaboration and foster innovation to advance the health sector on the continent.

This conference, held every two years, is now in its seventh edition and has brought together a diverse group of attendees, including healthcare professionals, economists, researchers, and policymakers focused on health and social welfare.

With a theme centered on building strong health systems in African countries, the event has attracted more than 350 participants from various parts of the world, with a majority coming from Africa.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Iyakaremye Zachée, stated that the Government of Rwanda has made significant efforts to develop the health sector and ensure healthcare access for all. This includes initiatives such as the community-based health insurance scheme, Mutuelle de Santé.
