Family Releases Independent Autopsy Findings in Renee Nicole Good Shooting Case

The family of Renee Nicole Good has taken a major step in their search for justice by releasing preliminary findings from an independent autopsy, shedding new light on the circumstances surrounding her death. The 37-year-old mother of three was killed in Minnesota in early January, in an incident that has drawn national attention and raised serious questions about the use of deadly force by federal authorities. Renee Good was found unresponsive inside her vehicle on the morning of January 7, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

She had just dropped her young child at school and was driving home with her partner when her vehicle encountered a group of federal immigration officers. Within minutes, her life ended in violence that her family believes warrants full transparency and accountability. The independent autopsy, commissioned by Good’s family and carried out by a respected medical pathologist, identified three distinct gunshot wound paths and an additional graze wound.

According to the findings, one bullet struck her left forearm, causing soft tissue bleeding but no fatal damage. Another passed through her right breast without affecting major organs. The fatal injury was a gunshot wound to the head, entering near the left temple and exiting on the opposite side.

The fourth injury was consistent with a grazing bullet and did not penetrate the body. Medical conclusions from the county medical examiner have not yet been released to the family or their attorneys. In the meantime, the family’s legal team has chosen to make the independent autopsy results public, stating that transparency is essential in a case of this magnitude.

Their attorneys argue that the information supports their broader investigation and reinforces concerns about whether deadly force was justified. Jonathan Ross, a federal agent involved in the incident, remained at the scene following the shooting and was later transported to a federal facility. Authorities later confirmed he was hospitalized for internal injuries but declined to provide further details, citing policy restrictions.

Ross has not been charged with any crime, and federal officials maintain that the investigation falls under federal jurisdiction. Legal representatives for Good’s family insist that the case is far from resolved. They contend that video evidence from the scene, combined with standards governing reasonable law enforcement conduct, raises serious doubts about the actions taken that day.

Several use-of-force experts have also voiced criticism, stating that lethal force is justified only when there is an immediate threat to life something they do not believe was present in this case. The incident has also sparked disagreement between federal and state authorities. While federal officials assert control over the investigation, Minnesota’s attorney general has publicly called for a process that is fair, open, and comprehensive.

The case has become a focal point in broader conversations about law enforcement accountability and federal power. Amid official claims from the federal government that portrayed Renee Good as a dangerous threat, her family has firmly rejected those assertions. They describe her as a loving mother, a devoted family member, and a person whose optimism and kindness touched many lives.

As they mourn her loss, they continue to seek answers, determined that her story be told fully and truthfully. ry be told fully and truthfully.
